ENLIGHTENMENT COACHING COURSE WEIGHT LOSS SUCCESS 102 “Doc, your Meso-Menu is a high-protein menu. I don't eat seafood or lamb or pork. How can I do your program when my choices are so limited?” Let me explain how. The HOPE Protocol's first phase has four components on the left and four on the right. The four components on the left are:
The four components on the right are:
In today's course, I will explain the second most important tool for weight loss. CUSTOMIZATION Our success rate increased tremendously once we introduced Daily Statistical Texting in our clinics. Daily Texting made our patients accountable daily. However, some people still failed. Through interviews, I discovered that most of those who failed the program had run into a problem and couldn't figure out a solution, so they quit. You see, everyone is different. No one recipe can optimize everyone's hormones, weight, health, and mind. My patients had different:
For The HOPE Protocol to succeed, I needed to customize the program for every patient's body and life. "So, if you don't like certain foods, don't eat them. We will develop a gourmet menu for your tastes." It took me a while to develop a tool that would customize the program for each patient. "I eventually discovered that when one of my patients ran into a problem, I needed to be available to help them solve it immediately." As I solved their problems, I saw that most came from stinkin' thinking—their negative self-talk. THE STORY OF THE TWO WOLVES I read this story years, maybe decades ago, and it represents the primary reason each patient's program needs to be customized. In it, an old Cherokee Indian chief teaches his grandson about life. “A fight is going on inside me,” he told the young boy, “a fight between two wolves. One wants me to fail. The other wants me to succeed.” “This same fight is going on inside of you, grandson…and inside of every other person on the face of this earth.” The grandson ponders this momentarily and then asks, “Grandfather, which wolf will win?” The old man smiled and said, “The one you feed.” SELF TALK Sometimes, your loser wolf is whispering reasons for you to fail. It's going to tell you that you're different. And because of these differences, you can't change. The loser wolf will tell you that your metabolism doesn't work like others, or your hormones are too messed up, or you should eat a plant-based diet or animal protein isn't good for you, or your personality isn't built for discipline, or because of your work schedule makes it impossible to follow the program. I have learned that when your self-talk tells you—you can't do something, you most likely can't. And when you decide you can't, you're feeding the Loser Wolf. "If you want to quit before you've discovered your bottom, healthy, ideal, happy weight, set that weight, and shaped your body, you have most likely manifested a problem that will justify quitting. It's called an EXCUSE TO FAIL!" Self-talk is the primary cause of failure or success. Most self-talk begins with an actual problem. This problem is usually easily solved but becomes a wall to your success. The longer the problem goes unsolved, the thicker the wall becomes, and the more negative self-talk occurs. HOW CUSTOMIZATION OCCURS I found that the best way to solve any problem before a wall is built is to talk to someone who has experience solving the problem. The problem needs to be solved while it's happening. To customize each patient's program, I must be available 24/7 to help them solve problems when they occur. Let me demonstrate what I mean. I once had a client text me freaking out because she was in a twelve-hour training session, and she thought she was going to have a lunch break. Instead, they trained right through lunch but brought in food. They served Lasagna, Caesar Salad, garlic bread, and crème brûlée. She texted me and told me she would skip this meal and fast until the training ended. I texted, "Eat it!" She texted me, 'There was no way she was going to eat the meal because she had done so well on the program and wasn't going to blow it now.' I texted back, 'One meal isn't going to blow the program, and if you don't eat, you're going to be a terrible student because your brain is going to shut down, and you're going to waste 12 hours of training and your boss's money. I also texted her that she didn't know how to fast and that by the end of the training session, she would be famished, and I could guarantee that there would be a Taco Bell across the street and as soon as she left, she'd jump into the dive through and eat six tacos. "Being famished will always beat the best self-discipline." This problem is typical of the difficulties that lead to the worst kind of failure: quitting. People fall off the horse and self-talk themselves back to the stables. "I have learned that the best way to customize a program is to help my clients solve problems when the problem arises; therefore, I am available to my clients 24/7, not an employee but me." Remember, I am retired. If I hire an employee, I am no longer retired. I only accept referred clients into my program, and my roster is nearly always full. But every week, I teach two of my readers everything they need to know to optimize their hormones and weight—and I do it for FREE! This is the view from my bed earlier this week. The picture doesn't do justice to the beauty, but as I looked at the sky reflecting off the lake, I realized how beautiful disaster can be. California experienced another atmospheric river this week, and my backyard flooded, but there is always some form of a rainbow in every extreme incident. This was this morning's rainbow. 🌈 Doc © 2024 | Doc Mac Coaching The FDA has evaluated none of the statements on this website. I have practiced hormone, weight, health, and mind optimization for over forty-five years. I retired 9 years ago; at least, that is what I thought. When I retired, my wife and I owned and operated seven medical clinics specializing in hormone and weight optimization. As we enter our pauses (menopause and andropause), our hormones become disrupted, causing us to gain weight, suffer from the inability to lose the extra weight, sleeping disorders, hormonally induced anxiety and depression, loss of interest in being intimate, and lose our motivation to be social. Our internal chemistry, our hormones, governs how we feel, look, live, and think. Subscribe to my free weekly newsletter, which over 30,000 'paused' women and men already have, by entering your email address below and learn the tools we use to optimize our hormones and weight ‘naturally.’
THE FIRST STEP DREAM REALITY: Part One “Doc, it’s a new year; not to sound cliché, but I want a ‘new me.’ Where do I begin?” When aiming to transform our physical and mental well-being, we often look at three key states of life: Be – Who we are (our identity) Do – What we do (our actions and productivity) Have – What we possess or experience (our results and goals) Surprisingly, when seeking real change, it often helps to begin by clarifying what we want to Have. Once we understand that, we...
