đ¸ The Pause Newsletter đ¸Brought to you by Doc Mac Coaching This weekâs topic: Tame Menopause Through Accountability Oh, and don't forget to download my Gourmet Meso-Meal Recipe ACCOUNTABILTY WANT TO MAKE A GOAL DIFFICULT TO ACHIEVE GO IT ALONE Iâve probably told this story a thousand timesâbecause itâs that powerful. I once read a study where researchers sought the most effective diet program for women. They followed thousands of women who began a diet on New Yearâs Day. By the end of the study, a staggering 97% had failed to lose any weight at all. But the researchers werenât done. They did a follow-up study, this time tracking the 3% who did lose weight. These women were deemed successful simply because they lost weight. At the end of that study, the researchers endorsed only one program: Weight Watchers. Their reasoning? It workedânot because it had a point systemâbut because it held people accountable. That lit a fire in me. I brought in the medical doctors, naturopaths, chiropractors, and nurses from our clinic. We held a mastermind session. You see, we were already practicing weekly accountability with our patients. We had them come in to be weighed and measured. However, many of our patients had failed at Weight Watchers before ever employing our services. I knew we had to offer something better. So we did. Smartphones had just become mainstream, and we decided to implement daily accountability. Each morning, our patients texted us:
The results? Game-changing. Our patients lost more weight than ever before, and the number of referrals from them exploded. In the first 25 years of practice, we had one clinic. Eighteen months after implementing Daily Statistical Texting accountability, we opened seven satellite clinics across Northern California. After four decades of practicing health optimization, I can say this with absolute certainty: âAccountability is the most important tool for success in any endeavor.â If youâve ever said, âThis is the week I start walking daily!â And by Wednesday, youâre walking to the fridge instead of around the blockâŚthen what you need isnât more motivation. You need a System of Accountability, a structured way to ensure you follow through, especially when life throws curveballs, hot flashes, or double-chocolate brownies your way. Hereâs what accountability looks like:
Why This Works (Even If You Hate Being "Watched") People who share their goals with an accountability partner are 65% more likely to succeed. Wait! It gets better. If they check in regularly? Success rates jump to 95%. Thatâs not a typo. Thatâs just the power of having someone lovingly on your tail. These stats come from a study by the American Society of Training and Development (ASTD), which found:
The statistics show that completing the HOPE Bridge exercises in an earlier chapter of the Self-Discipline Protocol will increase your odds of success by 50%, no matter what endeavor. Example in Action: Letâs say your goal is to stay consistent with walking to lose weight.
And if you donât want to pay for a coach? Fineâpost a sweaty selfie on IG. Or better yet, drag your best friend into your movement madness and turn your walks into walking talk therapy. âAccountability bridges your Be-Goals to your Have-Goals.â Let me help you build a HOPE Bridge. If youâre tired of starting over every Monday, maybe itâs time to stop going solo. I offer one FREE week of results-driven daily coaching so you can test the watersâwith me in your corner, checking in, customizing the menu, and cheering you on. âClick here to schedule your free week of coaching initial consultationâ Your Third Act deserves applause, not apologies. If you think you're "too old" to change, think again. Youâre just getting started. The best is yet to come. đ⨠P.S. Accountability is the secret weapon most people donât know they needâuntil they get it and wonder how they ever lived without it. P.P.S. After coaching thousands over my 45 years of practice, I have come up with a saying that is so true: âThose that check in daily succeed and those that donât, donât.â "Self-discipline isnât sexy... but success sure is." Oh, and I beleive we should eat gourmet meals. Losing weight isn't about being bland, mit's about being awesome. I have practiced hormone and weight optimization for over forty-five years. I retired 10 years ago; at least, that is what I thought. When I retired, my wife and I owned and operated several medical clinics specializing in hormone and weight optimization. We discovered that as a woman enters menopause, her hormones become disrupted, causing many women to gain weight rapidly, and no matter what they do, not be able to lose it. If that has happened to you, text me at 209-345-9799. I have found that those who text me are serious about creating the body they desire. Once I receive your text, I will find a convenient time for you to speak with me. During our conversation, I will customize a gourmet weight loss menu for you, and tweak it until it works. Our menus have no caloric restrictions or frequency of meals. There is no charge! đ Doc
