The 10-minute hormone hack I want you to try

If you want to Live Younger, Longer, here's one small thing to try this week.

THE LIVE YOUNGER, LONGER HACK #1

This week's focus: HORMONES

1 THING TO KNOW

Get outside within an hour of waking up.

Not behind a window.

Not staring at your phone next to a sunny window.

Actually go outside.

Your body uses morning light as one of the signals that tells your internal clock:

The day has begun.

And that matters more than most people realize.

1 THING TO DO

Tomorrow morning, go outside for 10 minutes shortly after waking.

Drink your coffee out there.

Walk around the block.

Let the dog take you for a walk.

Just get outside.

WHY I WANT YOU DOING IT

Your hormones don't operate independently.

They work on rhythms.

Morning light helps synchronize your circadian system—the biological clock involved in the daily timing of cortisol, melatonin, sleep, alertness, and metabolism.

And here's the part people miss:

Better aging isn't created by one giant health decision.

It's created by hundreds of small signals you repeatedly give your body.

At 70, I pay far more attention to those signals than I did at 40.

Vicky does the same in her 60s.

We don't expect our bodies to know what time it is while we spend our mornings sitting indoors staring at screens.

YOUR 7-DAY CHALLENGE

For the next seven mornings:

Get outside for 10 minutes within an hour of waking.

Don't change anything else.

Just notice:

How is your morning energy?

How is your mood?

And most importantly…

How are you sleeping?

Consider yourself your own little experiment.

ONE QUESTION

What is ONE small thing you do today that you believe is helping your future 70-year-old self?

Hit reply and tell me.

I read them.

Live Younger, Longer,

One of our reasons for wanting to Live Younger, Longer: there's still too much of the world we haven't seen.

Doc & Vicky Mac

P.S. Next week's Live Younger, Longer Hack moves to WEIGHT—and I'll show you one small change we use to help make managing body composition easier as we age.

Hi! I'm Doc Mac.

I have practiced hormone and weight optimization for over forty-five years. I retired 10 years ago; at least, that is what I thought. When I retired, my wife and I owned and operated several medical clinics specializing in hormone and weight optimization. We discovered that as a woman enters menopause, her hormones become disrupted, causing many women to gain weight rapidly, and no matter what they do, not be able to lose it. If that has happened to you, text me at 209-345-9799. I have found that those who text me are serious about creating the body they desire. Once I receive your text, I will find a convenient time for you to speak with me. During our conversation, I will customize a gourmet weight loss menu for you, and tweak it until it works. Our menus have no caloric restrictions or frequency of meals. There is no charge! 👍 Doc

The Second Rule to Weigh Less "And if you follow it, you'll age less" 1 THING YOU SHOULD KNOW The clock doesn't know whether you're hungry. It's noon—so you eat lunch. Everyone else is having dinner—so you eat dinner. Someone brings doughnuts into the office—apparently it's doughnut time. But none of those things answer the question your body actually cares about: Am I hungry? We've become very good at eating for reasons that have almost nothing to do with physical hunger. Habit. Boredom....

MY KNEES HAD AN OPINION ABOUT MY WEIGHT There was a time when I weighed 244 pounds. And my knees reminded me whenever. I stood after sitting.I walked up stairs.I tried to pull weeds. Now, in my seventh decade, I weigh the same as I did in high school. I can work in my yard.Vicky and I can travel with ease. And I can strength train several times a week. And I've become much more interested in what my body will allow me to do in my 80s than what it looks like in my 70s. Oh, and by the way, I am...

INSULIN 1 THING YOU SHOULD KNOW When you eat carbohydrates, your digestive system breaks them down into glucose. Glucose enters your bloodstream. Your pancreas responds by releasing insulin. Insulin opens the doors to your cells, allowing glucose to enter your cells and exit your bloodstream. That's a good thing. High blood glucose is toxic to your body. One of the most dangerous health conditions I see today is insulin resistance. That's when your body doesn't respond to insulin as...
