How Did You Do Yesterday?

"HOW DID YOU DO YESTERDAY?

"What side of the bed do you sleep on?"

"The left," Susan answered.

"When you wake, turn on your left side, bring your knees up, and let the lower part of your legs fall off the bed. At the same time, use your left elbow to lift your torso, allowing gravity to help you sit up in bed."

"What are you talking about?"

"If you want to weigh less and age less, you need to start respecting your body today before you're 80 years old and struggle to just stand up when you wake."

"O--Kay, I guess," Susan said, confused.

"Once your feet touch the floor, take your time to let your body move from dreamland to reality."

"But my bed is high. My feet dangle."

"Make sure to purchase a lower bed before the time comes because the better you prepare yourself for your 70s, 80s, and 90s today, the easier it will be to live younger, longer. Don't wait until you fall getting out of bed because once you are old, falls can be detrimental. Susan, I want you to start preparing for a long, high-quality life, and that starts by thinking about it now, not later."

"O--Kaaay," Susan said, with what I think was a hint of sarcasm.

"Let me review your lessons so far."

"After you woke, you performed Three-Six Breathing to calm your Vagus Nerve. You then went through my Five Sense Awareness exercise to bring you into the Present Time, where there is no regret about the past or fear of the future. Then you went through Thought Release to see what was leaking out of your subconscious and get a better idea of what is the hidden part of your mind, a kind of clearing ot your hidden emotional thoughts. Then you spend some time with the person you are creating, the you--you desire. You did that by declaring the better person in your four strands of life, your Me, Us, Them, and Him, the Dream Reality portion of pre-day betterment."

I heard Susan sigh.

Most of my clients have no idea how this may be the most important tool for looking and feeling better as they age, year by year. I want to tell her how these four exercises that I do before I arise are what took my life to the next level, the Joy Level. But I don't. I can tell she wants to get to the next lesson, and I only have fifteen minutes.

"Were you able to get through the entire process this morning?" I ask.

"I'm working on it."

"It takes practice, but I promise you will be rewarded once you become better at it. There is no better way to put yourself in the right state of body and mind before you start your day. And how you start your day makes for a better middle and end of it."

"So what's next?"

"Once you're standing, ask yourself: 'How did I do yesterday?'"

"So, how do I answer that?"

"Your bladder usually gives you the answer to that, but once it has been emptied, weigh in, and the most important tool to the Weigh Less part of our program is to text me your weight. For the Age Less portion of our program, text me how many hours you slept."

"I've been doing that. But why? I've been told it's not healthy."

"It's the opposite, as far as I am concerned; daily accountability is the best way to Weigh Less and Age Less quickly and efficiently."

If you want to look great and feel even better as you age, read this week's article about why daily stats and accountability may be the missing ingredient to help you become the you you desire.

Educational information only. Daily weighing may not be appropriate for everyone, particularly those with a history of disordered eating. Sleep duration is one indicator of health, not a direct measurement of biological aging. Consult your healthcare professional about persistent or unexplained weight changes.

Hi! I'm Doc Mac.

I have practiced hormone and weight optimization for over forty-five years. I retired 10 years ago; at least, that is what I thought. When I retired, my wife and I owned and operated several medical clinics specializing in hormone and weight optimization. We discovered that as a woman enters menopause, her hormones become disrupted, causing many women to gain weight rapidly, and no matter what they do, not be able to lose it. If that has happened to you, text me at 209-345-9799. I have found that those who text me are serious about creating the body they desire. Once I receive your text, I will find a convenient time for you to speak with me. During our conversation, I will customize a gourmet weight loss menu for you, and tweak it until it works. Our menus have no caloric restrictions or frequency of meals. There is no charge! 👍 Doc

HERE'S ANOTHER MAC TOOL WEIGH LESS · AGE LESS In January 2018, I bought a bathroom scale for less than lunch. Nearly nine years later, I still step on that same scale every morning. It doesn't measure 27 different things. It doesn't connect to my phone. And it doesn't pretend to tell me my biological age. It tells me what I weigh. And after 46 years of helping people optimize their weight, I've learned that what matters most isn't how much information a scale gives you. It's what you do with...

The Second Rule to Weigh Less "And if you follow it, you'll age less" 1 THING YOU SHOULD KNOW The clock doesn't know whether you're hungry. It's noon—so you eat lunch. Everyone else is having dinner—so you eat dinner. Someone brings doughnuts into the office—apparently it's doughnut time. But none of those things answer the question your body actually cares about: Am I hungry? We've become very good at eating for reasons that have almost nothing to do with physical hunger. Habit. Boredom....

MY KNEES HAD AN OPINION ABOUT MY WEIGHT There was a time when I weighed 244 pounds. And my knees reminded me whenever. I stood after sitting.I walked up stairs.I tried to pull weeds. Now, in my seventh decade, I weigh the same as I did in high school. I can work in my yard.Vicky and I can travel with ease. And I can strength train several times a week. And I've become much more interested in what my body will allow me to do in my 80s than what it looks like in my 70s. Oh, and by the way, I am...
