HORMONES AND LAUNDRY DETERGENT

"Doc, is regular everyday laundry detergent bad for me?"

Yes, especially when you are in menopause!

Regular laundry detergent can disrupt hormones and cause you to gain weight. They are filled with hormone-disrupting chemicals.

Hormone-Disrupting Chemicals in Regular Detergents

  1. Phthalates (Fragrances)
    • Found in artificial fragrances, phthalates can mimic or block hormones like estrogen and testosterone.
    • Linked to reproductive issues, thyroid dysfunction, and even weight gain.
  2. Parabens (Preservatives)
    • Act as xenoestrogens, meaning they mimic estrogen in the body.
    • Can contribute to hormone imbalances, especially in menopausal women.
  3. Nonylphenol Ethoxylates (NPEs)
    • Common in detergents, NPEs can interfere with estrogen levels and disrupt hormones.
    • Banned in some countries but still found in many U.S. products.
  4. Optical Brighteners
    • These chemicals make clothes look whiter but can be toxic to cells and act as hormone disruptors.
  5. Chlorine & Bleach Byproducts
    • Found in many detergents, these compounds can disrupt thyroid function by interfering with iodine absorption.

🚫 Who’s Most at Risk?

  • Menopausal women (who are already dealing with hormonal fluctuations).
  • Pregnant women (exposure can affect fetal development).
  • Children & infants (developing endocrine systems are more sensitive).

âś… How to Avoid Hormone-Disrupting Detergents

  • Choose fragrance-free, dye-free, and paraben-free formulas.
  • Look for plant-based detergents without synthetic additives.
  • Use natural alternatives like baking soda, vinegar, or soap nuts.
  • Check labels for phthalates, parabens, NPEs, and optical brighteners.

The first phase of HOPE is to optimize health by optimizing your liver. Recall the liver has to:

  • Filter Toxins
  • Burn these toxins
  • Flush the toxin's ashes from our body

Using laundry detergent without toxins is a great idea, especially if you are in menopause and your hormones are in chaos.

"So, Doc, what do you use?"

I asked Vicky about it, and she sent me this picture. She gets them auto-shipped every month.

Hi! I'm Doc Mac.

I have practiced hormone and weight optimization for over forty-five years. I retired 10 years ago; at least, that is what I thought. When I retired, my wife and I owned and operated several medical clinics specializing in hormone and weight optimization. We discovered that as a woman enters menopause, her hormones become disrupted, causing many women to gain weight rapidly, and no matter what they do, not be able to lose it. If that has happened to you, text me at 209-345-9799. I have found that those who text me are serious about creating the body they desire. Once I receive your text, I will find a convenient time for you to speak with me. During our conversation, I will customize a gourmet weight loss menu for you, and tweak it until it works. Our menus have no caloric restrictions or frequency of meals. There is no charge! 👍 Doc

"Doc, once I turned 50 years old, my anxiety levels skyrocketed. Especially in the morning. What caused this?" As you age, your estrogen levels are not the only hormone to wane. STRAND ONE HORMONE OPTIMIZATION Estrogen’s Role in Vitality & Mood Reader, Let’s talk about a hormone that deserves a standing ovation: estrogen. I know! I know!
