The fourth tool is... MOTIVATION Another reason my patients failed was that they lost their motivation; at least, that is the excuse they gave themselves. Clients who fall off their horses have difficulty getting back on them. Stinking Thinking kicks in when this happens, and the patient walks back to the stables. As their doctor and now coach, the best thing I can do is remind them of their purpose. Do you remember The HOPE Bridge?

When you lose motivation, I must delve deep into your purpose for optimizing you. I found that texting motivation didn't work as well as one-on-one conversations. I found to get my patients to the finish line, I had to call them. I found that in a ten-minute phone conversation, I could pick them off the ground, dust them off, lift them back onto the horse, pat the horse's butt, and get the client back into a gallop. I can teach you how to eliminate the water weight gained from a weekend binge in about a day. And for those who didn't fall off the horse, I pat the horse's butt and say giddy up. THE BEST MOTIVATION When clients become stuck, they need another win to be motivated again. Their usual problem, when a client becomes stuck, is that they continue to do what they have been doing. When you continue to do what you've been doing, and it doesn't work, you need to do something else. When I gave the client a new plan, and their stuckness disappeared, violá motivation returned. The best tool I can use to get you motivated is to teach you a tool that causes you to have a win. Success begets Success. “To keep you motivated as you move from your Be to your Have when you become stuck is to devise a plan to become unstuck. Your motivation will return once you are unstuck and moving toward your Have.” After forty-four years of practicing health optimization, I usually have an immediate solution for your stuckness.
